ELECTRICAL TRAINING.
theory and practice. DECISION OF POWER BOARD. At yesterday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board the Question of training the youth of New Zealand in electrical knowledge was discussed, and it was agreed that the power boards should accept some of the responsibility of training youth in the methods of hydro-elec-tricity. After a discussion it was decided to communicate with the Canterbury College authorities to ascertain if a scheme might ue evolved whereby the power boards could take a number of students each year into their employ for a limited time, the lads to work under the supervision of the boards’ engineers. The scheme, if workable, it was considered, would be' of mutual benefit to all concerned. On receipt of a reply from Canterbur}’ College the board proposed to circularise other boards in New Zealand with a view to getting co-opera-tion and continuity of the scheme.
