STRUCK OFF THE ROLL.

LAW SOCIETY’S ACTION. POSITION OF PAEROA SOLICITOR. The Full Court, comprising the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), MiJustice Sim, Mr Justice Adams, and Mr Justice MacGregor, met in Wellington on Friday to consider an application of the New Zealand Law Society to have the name of John Leslie Hanna, solicitor, Paeroa, removed from the roll, on the grounds of misappropriation of trust moneys. Mr a; AV. Blair appeared for Hanna. After reviewing the case Mr Justice Sim asked: “Why should this man, who on the face of things is a thief, be allowed' to remain on the rolte of an honourable profession ?” Mr Blair: That has not been established. Mr Von Haast, who made the application for the New Zealand Law Piactitioners’ Society, said that it was admitted that in one case trust moneys had been tampered with by Hanna. On resuming the Chief Justice, who presided, said that the case had been carefully considered, and as it stood at present there did not seem to oe any excuse possible for the action of which Hanna had been charged. The decision of the Bench was that Hanna’s name was to be struck off the roll.
