TUBUA. ROADING SCHEME. So far only about 500 yards, of metal have been received at Turua for the township reading scheme. The amount which the Town Board desires to have on the concrete road before the work of laying down the permanent road commences is 2000 yards, and as no metal has arrived since Wednesday week the works committee proposes to employ another towing contractor, who will possibly work with the present launch-owners when they recommence work. TENNIS. Rapid progress is being made with the work of laying down the three new tennis courts for the Turua Tennis Club. On Wednesday last only a small portion of the concrete of one court remained to be top-dressed with tar, and a little clearing up and levelling of the grounds has still to be attended to. The wire netting has been erected, and the outer walls and roof of the pavilion are in position. A good attendance of tennis enthusiasts is expected on the opening day. which is on Monday next, Labour Day. ,
