A great deal of interest lis being taken locally in the Clothier Shield and Goldfields Stars competitions, which are to be held this year at the Paeroa greens on Saturday and Mon-: day next A total of sixteen rinks, have entered for the tournament, inincluding the Matamata club, which won last season. The local greens are looking exceptionally well at present, and the benefit of the recent top-dressing is making itself manifest. Compete arrangements have been made by the local committee for the entertainment of the visitors, and. given fine weather, a pleasant and interesting tournament should result.
