WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., r eports :— Beef.—The market is still very firm, with prices about the same since our last report. Mutton;—There is little change in the price of fats, shorn sheep now coming forward and finding ready sale at firm prices. Store Cattle.—There is quite a move for all claisses of stores, yearlings, two-year-olds, and grown steers being much sought after ; also store cows are in demand, and there is good inquiry for good heifers to go to the bull. Store Sheep.—There are at present vterv few stores coming forward, a few pens of hoggets, ewes with lambs, and shorn wethers being the only classes offering and finding ready sale at good prices. Dairy Cattle.—The yardings ar» getting smaller, but there is still a good demand' for choice' cows or good heifers at profit. Pig S .—Pigs are coming forward in large numbers, with prices a good bit easier, especially fox* fats. The bacon companies are now operating at 5%d. Stores are still selling well in comparison with prices ruling fox- fats. Horses. —Good heavy and medium draughts and farm sorts are in demand, light horses being dull of sale. We quote: Bullocks, prime heavy £l3 10s to £l5 10s, medium £lO 10s co £l2 10s ; cows, prime £9 to £9 10s, medium £5 15s to £6 10s, unfinished £3 10s to £3 15fs, stores 25s to £2 10s ; steers, forward 3%-yr £6 to £7 ss, 33ayr stores £5 10s to £6 ss, good 2%-yr £3 10s to £4 ss, others £2 10s to £3, yearlings £2 10s to £3 ss, medium yearlings £1 15s to £2. Sheep : Wethers, prime heavy £2 5s to £2 10s, medium 38s to £2 2s, shorn 33s to 35s : ewes, prime heavy, 35s to £2, shorn 28s to 30s, light woolly 31s to 335; store wiethers, 4-tooth 32s to 34 s, 2toofh 30s to 32s ; ewes in lamb, fiveyear 35s to 38s, sound mouth 28s to 33s ; hoggets, fat 30s to 355, forward 28s to 31s; stores 23s to 255. Pigs: Best baconers £3 10s to £3 15s, medium £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; porkers, £2 5s to £2 15s ; slips, 35s to £2; weanex ; s, 25s to 30s. Horses : Heavy draughts £5O to £55, medium draughts £3B to £40,; farm, sorts £2B to £33; harness horses £lO to £l2 ; hacks £5 to £l2. Dairy Cattle,: Best cows £l2 10s to £l5 10s, others £7 to £8 10s; best heifers £lO 10s to £l2 10s. medium £7 10s to £9 10s, backward £5 10s to £6 10s. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports having held its weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last, there being an average yarding of beef, store cattle, and sheep, a small yarding of fat pigs, while stores were penned in the usual numbers. Prime ox and cow beef and fat sheep improved slightly on the previous market. Bacon pigs eased a little, there being a good derixand fox* porkers, while stores again drew keen competition and sold at late, rates. In the beef section good quality medium prime steers brought from £l3 6s to £l3 19s, lighter £l2 Is to £l2 12s, small £ll to £ll 2s ; heavy fat cows to £9 10s; fresh-conditioned cows £4 to £4 4s ; good framed store cows £3 2s 6d to £3 16s, smaller £2 10s to £2 ‘ 15s ; 3-year-old steers £4 4s ; well-grown 15-months Jersey heifers £4 to £4 10s, small £2 to £3 ; small yearling Shorthorn heifers £1 2s 6d to £1 ss, culls 10s. Sheep.—One pen of extra good quality prime heavy fat ewfes, sold on account ofzMr J. J. Rybum.'Ngahinapouri, made £2 10s 4d ; medium fat ewes 355; prime fat woolly hoggets 36s 6d to 38s 6d ; small framed forward ewes 27s 6d; forward hoggets 30s 7d ;' sound mouthed ewes with B.F. lambs £2 2s 6d.
