WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports : — Beef.—There is practically no rise since our laist report, but the market is still very firm with prospects of prices being higher. Mutton. —The yardings are small, prime wether and ewe mutton beingscarce, the supply not being sufficient for the demand, with a sharp rise in prices and every likelihood of higher prices until shorn sheep come forward. . Store Cattle—A good inquiry exists for all classes of young male cattle, also for good store and forward bullocks, but little for yearling heifers ;
store cows ■ ar.e in demand, no doubt duo to .the high prices ruling for cow beef. Store Sheep.—The yardings at present are very small, most of the stores being held over till after shearing. A few sales of ewes with lambs have taken place in the markets and paddocks. Dairy Cattle. —There is still a good demand for choice, well-grown heifers at profit, also for any good dairy herds, but inferior and backward are very dull of sale. Pigs,—Pigs are coming forward now in good numbers, both in fats and stores, with prices very firm for all classes. Stores are too dear in comparison with the prices ruling for fats.
