CROQUET.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEBTINfi. The annual general meeting of the Paeroa Croquet Club was held in the Public Library on Wednesday, Mrs J. Conolly presiding over an attendance of jibout twenty membeiis. The annual report and balancesheet, as presented by the secretary, Mrs G. H. Taylor, was read and adopted, The balance-sheet disclosed a small credit balance, but as a considerable amount of new gear is required for this season the incoming committee will be faced with the proposition of considering ways and means of raising further revenue. The annual report stated that the club had experienced a very successful year, considering the state of the greens, and a number of' enjoyable int3i-club games were played. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following were elected officebearers for the ensuing season: President, Mrs G. H. Taylor; vicepresidents, Mrs Taiboys and Miss Dawber ; secretary and treasurer, Mns G. P. Lamb. A general committee' of twelve members was also set up. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president and secretary for their enthusiasm and ready assistance, which had at all times been cheerfully given. Mesdames Conolly and Taylor suitably acknowledged the members’ appreciation of their OPENING DAY. The date of the official opening was left in the hands of the committee. Mesdames McGruer and Barclay offered to donate trophies for a progressive tournament to be played for on the opening day. “B’ GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP. rhe “B” grade championship was won by Mrs J. Forrest towards the end of the season, and on making the presentation of the trophy the president congratulated the recipient on the good progress made during the season.
