WAITAKARURU STOCK SALE. There was a very big yarding at Messis A. Buckland and Sons’ monthly stock sale at the Waitakaruru yards on Friday, and despite the incessant rain there was a good attendance of buyers. The yarding was mostly dairy cows and heifers, for which there is still a good demand, but the prices realised were not-as high as those ruling at recent sales. The influence of the weather was very apparent. Reef was in good demand, and stores sold at late quotations. Best heifers realised up to £9 10s, good heifers £6 to £B, small and backward £3 to £4 10s. Best dairy cows brought £lO and downward, others £5 5s to £8 10s, and backward cows £3 10s to £5. Heavy beef cows changed hands at prices up to £6 ss, and lighter from £3 to £4 12s 6d. A pen of light-weight, steers sold at £7.
