TURUA TOWN BOARD.
BIENNIAL ELECTION. VOTE OF CONFIDENCE. The first biennial election to appoint seven commissioners to constitute the Turua Town Board was held on Wednesday last and resulted in a majority of the previous board being returned. The chairman, Mr J. Mules, topped the poll, and other members returned were : Messrs F. Olsen, A. C, Scott, and J. T. Davies. Mr A. P. Gardiner was defeated, and Messrs A. C. Ansford and F. Bqek (all members of the previoup board) did not again stand. , The vacancies were filled by Messrs C. Bedford, S. G. Williams, and J. McConnell. Of the 146 names on the roll 89 electors exercised their vote. Details of the polling are as follows : J. Mules, 78 ; F. Olsen, 73; A. C. Scott, 64 ; J. T. Davies, 62 ; C. Bedford, 5'5 ; S. G. Williams, 55 ; J. McConnell, 46; H. C. Luke, 40; A. P. Gardiner, 31; F. N. Truelove; 25.
