PAEROA STOCK SALE, The stock sale conducted by the Farmers’ Co-op, Auctioneering Co., Ltd., was ’ held in the Paeroa yards yesterday, when there was a large attendance of settlers from all parts of the district. Despite the fact that the regular stock sale had been 1 held at Hikutaia on W.ednesday.,/the yarding at Paeroa was considered very satisfactory, and the number of beasts penned was considerably' in excess of the number offered in the local yards on previous occasions. Competition was fairly keen, and the prices obtained were, equal to those ruling in other parts of the province. The stock, on an average, was in fair condition. considering the winter weather and floods that were experienced this year. The following prices were obtained: Holstein springing heifers, £3 to £6 15s; Jersey heifers, £8 IDs ; good forward dairy cows £lO, poor and backward £3 to £7 ; fat cows £4 to £5 19s ; forward store cows 30s to £2 9d , 18-months heifers £1 14s; yearling heifers 21s .to 30s ; prime fat bullocks £ll 19s ; small store bullbcks £7 7s 6d ; 2-year steers £3 Bs. Two pens of. fat hoggets were disposed of at 24s 6d and 25s respectively.
