PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

OPENING OF MISSION. Mr W. J. Mains commenced his mission yesterday, conducting both services at St. Andrew's Church. Of prepossessing appearance and charm of manner, the man commends his message. Mr Mains disclaims any of the disconcerting methods of other days. Disclaiming even the title of evangelist the missioner is one who voluntarily and freely devoted his leisure to the propagation of the Gospel message. The morning address to young people, based on song of Solomon 2-1, “The Rose pf Sharon,” was a message full of meaning and beauty to young and old alike. The sermons, norning and evening, were sermons, morning and evening, were St. Matthew 11-28. Both addresses were deeply impressive. The mission services will be continued this week and next.
