DISTRICT NEWS.
NGATEA. HALL SOCIETY. A meeting of the committee of the Ngatea Public Hall Society was held on Wednesday evening, Mr G. T. Davidson presiding over Messrs W. McDuff, Si. Phillips, W. J. Clare, C. W. Schultz, J. Costello, and J. N. Anderson, hon. secretary. A letter was received from Mr E. Walton, the society’s, solicitor, stating that the transfer of the hall site from the trustees to the society had been completed. The title deed had been sent to the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Thames, to be put with the bank's mortgage. The transfer from the Anglican Church of the additional section adjoining the hall site had also been completed. Accounts totalling £29 19s lOd were passed for payment.* The secretary was instructed to take legal action to collect outstanding debts. The question of the breakage of crockery; forms, and windows was discussed and demedial measures adopted. * Mr W. J/Clare was appointed to attend to the installation of the electrically heated tea urn,.
