TO-NIGHT. GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. THE RAMBLIN’ KID. "Keeping to weight” is an import ant part of the daily life of a Western star, as can be proved by "The Ramblin’ Kid,” Hoot Gibbon’s new Universal special feature, to be shown at the Gaiety Theatre to-night. Production was actually delayed two days to train Gibson down to weight, The locale is a ranch in Arizona/ Gibson does some of the most daring riding ever done for pictures—captures a wild horse in a thrillnig race over the Sierias during a terrific rainstorm and performs other breath-tak-ing feats of horsemanship and daring. “The horse he rides.” said Edward Sedgwick, the director, “is used to him at his regular weight, and every time he puts on a few pounds we insist on his training down before doing any dangerous riding. Otherwise his home, not used to his new weight, might not be able to avoid accidents.” SATURDAY NIGHT. TRILBY. "Trilby” to be screened to-morrow night,is a story of five loves: one, pure and honourable; another, prompted by selfish, ambitious desire ; a third, of fatherly affection; a fourth, hopeless infatuation; and the fifth, akin to the worship of a dog for its master. Andree Lafayette, the charming lead of. this all-star cast, went <0 America direct from the French metropolis, as did also Maurice Cannon, who plays Zotizoit, and Max Constant, the Dodor of the play. Several other French players worked in the production, and it is needless to state that they thoroughly enjoyed the Parisian atmosphere—it was as a breath of French gardens in springtime. It can be easily believed that French was spoken on the sets almost as frequently as English during the filming of “Trilby.”
