Wm. J. Mains. Paeroa, Sept. 7-21. Air C. Stretton, of Waitakaruru, who was injured while playing in the Plains v. Paeroa football match, is now back from the hospital and able to walk with the aid of crutches. His foot is enclosed in plaster of paris, as the X-ray examination disclosed several dislocations. It is expected that it will be several months before he will be able to walk again. A mild diversion was caused near the Paeroa railway station on Saturday, when two large, gaily decorated char-a-bancs drew up opposite the Paeroa Hotel, and a number of passengers got down and made a rush towards the “private bar,” only to return to the station platform with a disappointed look on their faces —and more than one member made unkind remarks about “dry areas.” The passengers- were members of the Hamilton Old Boys’ football team, en route to play a match at Thames, whither they proceeded after refreshing themselves with tea and sandwiches at the station refreshment rooms. For Children’s Hacking Cough, Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure.
