ACCLIMATISATION.

ALLOCATION OF TROUT FRY. STOCKING LOCAL STREAMS. Air D. Leach, secretary of' the Ohinemuri Acclimatisation Society, has received advice that 50,000 rainbow trout fry have been allocated to the local society for liberation. For some time past Mr Leach has been actively working towards stocking up the streams, and it must be very gratifying to the Society to have its claims so generously recognised, especially in view of the fact that, with one exception, the local society lias received the largest allocation of fry this year. It is expected that the fry will arrive in P'aeroa about the middle of next month, when it is proposed to liberate ’28,000 in the Waitawheta Stream, 2000 in Tarariki Creek, 6000 in Waitoa Stream, 7000 in Hikutaia Stream, and 7000 in Komata Stream. In connection with the liberation of fry in Tarariki Creek, it is the intention of the society to invite the senior hoys attending the Paeroa High School to take part in the work, as a means of stimulating interest in acclimatisation affairs and at the' same time affording the society assistance. Mr. J. W. T. loner; is also arranging for the boys of the Karang'ahake school to assist in the liberation of fry in Waitawheta Stream.
