MARKET REPORTS. Norden and Co., Ltd., have supplied the following particulars :— Since our last advice butter has remained steady at 186 s to 188 s, as against 156 s to 158 s for th® same period last year. The total importations of butter from all sources into Great Britain during June was 29,587 tons, with the average price for New Zealatd 175 s 3d, and during the corresponding period for 1923 the amount was 24,250 tons, the average New Zealand price being 150 s 3d. Dnaish exports during the first week of June aggregated 2379 tons, of which 71 per cent, was absorbed by Great Britain and 28 per cent.' by Germany. For the corresponding week in 1923 the figures were 2387 tons (Great Britain 78 per cent., United States 5 per cent., Scandinavia 10 per cent., Germany 6 per cent.). Siberian butter is arriving in London in increasing quantities, but the quality is inferior and prices range from 156 s to 170 s. The local prices ruling for Australian butter are: Sydney, 172 s 8d; Melbourne, 168 s; Brisbane. 168 s. Production is increasing, excepting in Queensland, where it continues to decline. There appears to be quite sufficient butter in cold store even to warrant a reduction in present local prices, and there now appears to be no necessity to import New Zealand butter this season. Cheese prices have eased slighilj’ since our last report, and the present market prices are : White, 90s to 92s ; coloured. 86s. The market is steady. For the same period last year the prices were from 94s to 965. Great Britain's importations of cheese from all sources (luring June totalled 7738 tons, the average price for New Zealand being 87s. In June, 1923, the amount imported was 14,586 tons, and the average price was 89s for New Zealand. Stocks of Canadian cheese at Montreal oji July 1 were 111,000 crates, as against 35,000 for the same period last season. Stored stocks are going out of condition and are being liquidated at lower rates than freshly-made arrivals. The Auckland market prices for butter are unchanged, and are: Superfine, Is 6%d per lb ; first-grade. Is 6d. per lb; second-grade. Is 5d per lb. Cheese: Coloured mediums, B%d to B%d per lb ; coloured dairy, lOd; coloured loaf, 10%d; Stilton, 2s 6d. Stocks are in ample supply. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. At the Hamilton weekly stock sale on Tuesday last we had a fair entry of all stock. No prime steers were penned. Prime fat cows drew good competition, but fat sheep and pigs were scarce. Light fat steers made from £8 6s to £9 Ils, good quality fleshy 3 and 4-year steers £6 5s to £6 15s, extra prime heavy fat cows £9 6s, heavy £7 to £7 12s 6d, lighter £5 6s to £6 5s ; best vealers £2 Iftß ; good freshconditioned 4 and 5-year steers £4 19s to £5 5s ; good framed store cows £2 5s to £2 10s, others 25s to 355; best dairy cows, well forward £8 10s to £9 15s backward £3 to £5 ; fair Jerseycross heifers £5 to £7, backward iowcondiiioned £3 to £5 15s. Heavy fat ewes 36s 6d, tsmali fat wethers 325, fat and forward ewes 27s 6d. Baconers £Jf 12s to £4, best porkers £2 19s to £3 6s lighter £2 10s to £2 15s, small and unfinished 35s to £2 2s : slips 25s to 31s ; best, weanens £1 to £1 4s, smaller 16s to 18s.
