WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Fanners’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co.. Hamilton, reports :— Beef.—There lias been a good demand for steer beef, but cow beef has been somewhat easier owing to the large yardings coming forward. Mutton.— Only a limited amount of mutton is offering, and prices arc firm for all classes.

Store Cattle.—There is no improvement in the store cattle market, and big yardings have been coming forward. A fair demand exists for grown steers, also for fresh-conditioned cows, with practically no young steers offering Cull cows and calves are very dull of sale, with the exception of choice lines of Jersey-cross calves, which arc finding buyers at fair money.

Store Sheep.—There is a kfcen inquiry for all classes of store sheep, especially ewes in lamb, no doubt due to the price of wool and a lot of farmers going back to sheep. Pigs —.pat pigs are coming forward in large numbers, and are somewhat easier, atlhough at the present prices they are a payable proposition to the farmer. The bacon companies are not operating as freely as previously. Stores are selling well for this time of the year.

Horses. —There is still a keen inquiry for good young horses, both heavy draught and useful farm class. We quote as follows: Bullocks, prime heavy £lO to £ll 10s, medium £8 10s tp £9 5s ; cows, prime £5 10;s to £6 ss. medium £4 to £4 10s, unfinished £3 to £3 10s, stores 15s to 25s ; steers, forward 3%-year £4 15s to £5 ss, Vfc year stores £3 15s to £4 ss, good 2%y;car £3 to £3 10s, others £2 10s to £2 15,5. good 18-months £2 to £2 10s, medium £1 10s to £1 15s. Wethers, prime heavy 35s to 38s, medium 31s to 33s : ewes, prime heavy 27s tp 30s, light 23s to 24s ; store wethers, 4-tootn 31s to 325, 2-tooth 26s to 28s ; ewe,s in lamb, 5-year 25s to 28s, sound mouth 21s to 235,; lambs, fat 23s 6d to 255, forward 21s ; good store lambs 17s to 18s, medium 13s 6d to 15s, small Ils to 12,s 6d. Pigs: Prime hammers £3 10s to £4, medium £3 to £3 7s 6d; porkcis £2 to £2 10s ; slips 25s to 30s; weaners 10s to. 17s. Horses: Heavy draughts £5O to £6O, medium £33 to £35; spring cart sorts £lB to £22; harness horses £lO to £l2.
