FOOTBALL.
PAEROA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The regular meeting of the committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was h'eld on Wednesday evening, Mr P. E. Brenan presiding over the following: Messrs C. T. Mettam, H. M. Shand, W. Pennell, J. Morrison, W. Walsh, and C. H. Butcher (secretary).' THIRD-GRADE COMBINATION. On the motion of Mr Shand, seconded by Mr Morrison, it was rseolved to cancel the Suburbs-Netherton thirdgrade team, and that the union would consider applications for registration from players, who would be allotted to various clubs as the union thought fit. MANAGERS APPOINTED. Mr Shand was appointed manager of the representative team to play Piako at Te Arolia to-morrow, and Mr Mettam manager of the B team which will play in Paeroa. PLAYER SUSPENDED. Mr R. B. Penliugton Wrote stating that he had found it necessary to order an East player, named G. Neil, off the field on Saturday last during the closing stages of the East v. West match. Mr Penlington stilted that the player in question was under the influence of liquor, used obscene language, and continually obstructed the West players. It was decided to suspend Neil for a fortnight. ODD JERSEYS. Mr Penlington drew attention to the fact that a number of odd jerseys were worn by the players in the East v. West match, and also that no ball was in evidence at thie commencement of the match until one was borrowed from the Karangahake team, which had just come off the field. G. ROYAL'S CASE. The question of boundaries as applicable to the East playter G. Royal was again discussed, and on examination Royal admitted that he regarded his place of residence as Komata, and within the Suburbs club’s boundary. Owjng to the lateness of the season the committee decided to take no further action In the matter, and allow’ Royal to continue to play for East. POSTERS. The matter of securing posters for di.snlay in connection with representative matches was left in the hands of the secretary. * REGISTRATIONS. The following registrations were approved: W. Nealie, East seniors; J. Wright, East juniors; P. Corbett, Suburbs seniors ; W. Cassin and L. Buchanan, Suburbs juniors. T. Hudson. West juniors, was regraded to third-grade. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES. Seniors.—Paeroa A v. Piako A, at Te Aroha; Paeroa B v. Piako B, at Paeroa. Juniors.—East v. West, at Paeroa, 1.30 pan.; Suburbs v. Karangahake, at Hikutaia.
