BOAT RAGE DIET.

NO SECRET “HECITES. CAMBRIDGE ALE. What should a boat race crew eat and drink during training to ensure success ? This question was put to Mr Harcourt Gold, the Oxford coach, al Putney, where the crews arc training for the race. “I deny my crew nothing within reason.” he said. “They have ordinary plain fare. There are no special likes or dislikes, or secret recipes. They have breakfast, luncheon, tea. and dinner, as they would have in ordinary times. If a man wants a glass of beer or port wine with his luncheon or dinner he has it.” The Cambridge crew, too, have no special culinary shpr.t-cut to success. There is plenty of variety, but no fancy dishes are served. Cambridge, however, has its famous ale, specially sent up from the university for the crew’s use.
