FOOTBALL.
MATCHES AT THAMES. THE TEAMS SELECTED. On Saturday nest a friendly match wi’l be played at- Thames between representatives of the Hauraki Plains and Thames Rugby Unions. Messrs C. Hayward, G. Porteous, and J. H. Nicholson have chosen the following to represent the Plains in the senior game:— Full-back, L. Skelly (Waitakaruru): til rec-quarters, C. Molloy (Ngatea), J. Adlum (Kerepeehi), C. Ellis (Ngatea) five-eighths, C. Stretton (Waitakaruru), F. Nicoll (Ngatea) ; halfback : E. Masters (Kerepeehi) ; rover, L. Ryan (Coast).. Tlie forwards will be chosen on the field from the following : K. Fox. W. Clark. R. Steedman. T. Rapana, J. Millington. D. Cowdrey. E. Cowdrey, B. Wallis, ami U Hunt. Emergency backs: L. Clotworthv and Stewart. Messrs V. Williams and A. Christie chose the following juniors Full back. T. Tuhoi (West) ; threequarters, M. McMillan (Kerepeehi), D. McKercliar (Ngatea), Watene (Kerepeehi) ; five-eighths, A. Elvin and J. Jones (Turua) ; half-back. R. Frisken (Turua) ; rover, Walsh (Waitakaruru : forwards, R. Smith (Turua). Wilson (Ngatea), H. Henry (West), T. Alderson (Ngatea). F. Taylor (Waitakaruru). H. Stone (Ngatea), J. Milne (West). Emergencies : Forwards. S. Keniaghan (Coast) and J. Garry (Waitakaruru) ; backs, R. Billings (Turua) and McPherson (Waitakaruru). As far as it known at present the teams will travel by launch, leaving Kerepeehi at 10.30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at Thames, and the junior game will commence at 1.45 p.m.. the seniors taking the field at 3 p.m Owing to the state of the weather none of the club matches were played on the Plains on Saturday. They will be played on June 7.
