FOOTBALL.

PRIMARY SCHOOL UNION. MOVEMENT IN PAEROA. A meeting of delegates representing the primary schools in and around Paeroa was held in Paeroa on Saturday last, when it was decided to form the Paeroa Primary Schools' Rugby Union. Rules governing the proposed competition were drawn up, and will be submitted to delegates at a mee'ing called for next Saturday at 11 o'clock. Officers pro. tern, were elected as follows : President, Mr J. W. T. Jones. Karangahake ; vice-president. Mi - G. 11. Ta.vlor, Paeroa ; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Bigelow, Paeroa ; eomnrttee, officers ex officio, and one di legate from each other school competing. It is expected that teams from the following schools will compete : Paeroa (2), Convent, Karangahakc, Netlierten, Hikutaia, and possibly Tirohia ami Komata. It was decided to request the Paeroa Rugby Union to supply a football to every team competing. PLAINS REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the Hauraki Plains Referees' Association was held on Monday evening, there being present: Messrs G. T. Davidson (chairman), J. Costello, W. J. Clare, J. Reid, D. A. Vincent, M. Leonard, J. N. Anderson, H. L. Berney, and .. Banks (secretary). The reports of the matches played on the previous Saturday were discussed at length and then adopted. A motion deploring the behaviou*' of certain members .of the Rugby Union at the AVaitakaruru-Ngatca match last Saturday was carried, and it was decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the union with a request for the co-operation o' officials in controlling the spectators at future matches. For next Saturday’s matches the following referees were recommended :— Waitakaruru v. Kcrepeehi.—Messrs J. N. Anderson (senior) and J. Banks (junior. Turua. v. West.— Messrs G. T. Davidson (senior) and M. Leonard (junior). .The usual discussion on points of the game then took place.
