To-day marks the anniversary jf the British victory at Vimy Ridg.', 1917. The tender o£ £849 by Mr W. H. Taylor, of Paeroa, for the erection of a bridge .across the Waitakaruru Stream on Mahuta Road was accepted at yesterday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. ■Jwing to the disorganisation caused by the lengthy sitting of the Boundaries Commission tlie regular meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council, which was to have been held to-morrow evening, has been postponed until Thursday, April 17. Application has been made to the Bank cf New .Zealand on the guarantee of members of the Waitakaruru Domain Board for an overdraft up to £2OO for the purpose of improving tin domain for the benefit of sports clubs of the district.
