HAURAKI PLAINS SHOW.

WEIGHT-COMPUTING CONTEST. The result of the weight-computing competition held at the recent Hau raki Plains A. and P. Show was announced oni Monday. The bullock weighed 7831 b, and Mr J. H. Sloane, Ngatca. came nearest with 7791 b, Mr J. Sim. Waitakaruru. being second with TST’AIb. The sheep scaled GG-Vjlb, and Mr N. G. A. Death, Waitakaruru, secured the first prize with with Mr G. Hayes, Ngatea, second, 651 b. For the pig Messrs S. Coppins, J. Hamilton, and “Bacon,” of Ngatea, tied for first place with 1311 b, being half a pound ovei - the correct weight. Messrs A. Cleave .and C. MeTaggar'., of Ngatea were the next nearest, with 129 1 /21b. v In the grade Friesian class Mr S’. B.' Murray’s cow secured first prize in the three-year-old ekiss, and Mr J. H. McMillan’s second prize.
