BOWLING.
Great interest is being evinced in the night play competition being held on the local green under the auspices of the bowling club. Handsome silver challenge buttons.have been presented by the club, and the winning team will be permitted to hold them until beaten. A team from the local railway staff gained the first win, holding the buttons for two games, but on the third game they were Won by a team representing the grocers and drapers. On Saturday evening last a miscellaneous ring, consisting of Purdie, McCullay, Ellis, and Olsen (skip), challenged the holders, comprising Black, Brown. MeAVatters, and Williams (skip). Tn a real good game the scores were equal on the twentyfirst head. On an extra head being played Olsen’s team managed to win by two points. Williams rink thus losing the buttons, for the time being, at any rate, ■
