PIPIROA BRIDGE.
© THAMES BOROUGH CONTRIBUTION DEALT WITH IN COMMITTEE. When the matter of the Pipiroa C bridge came up at Wednesday’s specia! meeting of the Hau.aki Plains County Council it was decided, on the motion of Cr. Harris, seconded by Cr. Parfitt, to suspend standing orders. Cr. Madgwick protested, contending that the ratepayers were entitled tn know all the facts. He desired his vote recorded against the motion. On resuming in open meeting the . following recommendation of the council in committee was adopted; •That considering the Thames Borough Council is not citing the Hauraki Plains County Council for the Kauaeranga bridge, their offer of £750 for the Pipiroa bridge be accepted, providing the following reservations are withdrawn-; -That the offer shall not be effective -unless and until actual construction work on the Kirikiri bridge is definitely commenced, and that the borough council shall irnt be required to contribute to the c’st of maintenance of any road or other bridge in the Hauraki PlainsCounty.’"
