Discussing the quality ot the new school buildings' now being erected cn the Plains the Hon. C. J. Parr said that they contained the most up-to-date features possible, and were-u every way equal to the latest buildings erected in the cities. Particular care was being taken to secure the best system of ventilation by having big windows at the sides of the classrooms which would permit a current of air to pass over the heads of pupils. Unfortuately too often these windows were not opened. Another feature that was being adopted where possible was the provision of windows in such a position ais to permit of pupils receiving the light over their left shoulder. The number of splendid buidlings he had visited recently, eaid Mr Parr, was evidence that the Government was not spending all its nrmey in the cities.
