CRICKET.
LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The final matches of the first round were played on Saturday last in ideal weather, and resulted in the Kopuarahi A team securing a two-point win against Kopuarahi. B, and Waitakaruru a three-point win against Pipiroa. The match between the two Kopuarahi elevens had been looked forward to as a trial of strength. When the club was- recently divided so that two elevens could take the field the two teams were supposed to be equal. Unfortunately no arrangement was made prior to commencing a,s to whether the match should terminate at 3 p.m., the time stipulated in the rules of the association, or should continue
until both teams had completed their innings. The A team won the first innings by two runs. At 2.30 p.m., with four wickets down for 51 ruiis, the B team declared their innings closed.
