MATCHES ON THE PLAINS. SATURDAY’S RESULTS. The Laidlaw. Cup and the Hayward Shield competitions were carried a step further on Saturday. The weather was line, but a strong southerly wind was blowing. Turua South were unable to send a full team to Mangawhero, so had to forfeit two games. The results arc as follows, the names of the visitors being mentioned first Kerepeehi v. Only two B Grade matches were played, as both the Hopai and Turn® courts were engaged. Kopuarahi, Waitakaruru, and Kaihere teams have now’ completed their matches in this’ competition, and have scored 46, 25, an I 23 points respectively. The Turua’ team, with 27 pointsi to its credit, has twb matches yet to . play, while • Hopai, with 31 points, and Kerepeehi, with 17 points, have each one match to play. It now remains to be seen if Turua can gain winning points, and next Saturday’s match with Hopai will practically de-’ cide the issue.
