MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Hauraki Plains A. and P. Association Show Committee was held at Ngatea on Monday last when final arrangements in connection with the forthcoming show we r e discussed at length.

It was decided not to call tenders for the refreshment .booth, but that it should be operated by the association witli tlie help of voluntary labour.

The secretary reported that entries were coming in steadily, but, in previous years, competitors put off entering until the last moment. The necessity for sending in notification of entry as early as possible was stressed by several members, and it was decided to extend the date up to which stock entries would be received until the end of the present Entries for the horse and horticultural sections would he received up till Wednesday, 13th inst., but the names of competitors and exhibitors would not appear in the catalogue unless the entry was received by Satur.lay next. The committee decided "to obtain the use of the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s stockyards, and to make a small charge for the custody of horses and vehicles.

The secretary was instructed to endeavour to make arrangements with some band to play on the showground, and also tp make arrangements witn the proprietor of a picture show to screen pictures in the hall during the evening.

The question of whether any other form of entertainment would be provided in addition to the pictures was deferred for the time being. .

A working bee to put the ground in oriler will be held on Thursday, the ll'.h inst.
