The following latest editions have been received from Messrs Gordon and Gotch :—
The "Red” magazine is a world of romance and adventure, and a world of love and hate. The latest number has another grand instalment of '‘'Mistaken Trails,” by Roy Norton, a gripping tale of the West. Other popular w'-’ters ■ also contribute amusing and mysterious stories that are hard to beat.
■ Fine; fresh fiction will be found in the "Green” magazine, which contains an exceptionally astounding story, entitled "Gratitude,” by the popular writer, Roy Norton. Other contributions hold'the reader in all moods, of Joy and sorrow and tears and laughter.
The latest “Premier” magazine is a Christmas number of special interest. “Figures of Speech,” by Henry Fidler is a new Monty Pemberton comedy by the author of “Roland” stories. This enjoyable new series is bringing Mr Fidler’s .name into the front rank of fiction humorists. Rita Weiman also contributes a powerful story of the stage, entitled “Two Masters.”
The special double Christmas number of “Hutchinson’s” magazine is full of good'things. There' are stories by Baroness Orcsy, E. F. Benson, D. de Veie Stacpople, and other popular writers a special humorous section, many illustrations in colour, arid four coloured plates. “Christmas Conjuring,” by Carl Hertz, has been contributed by this world-renowned conjurer and magician.
The February issue of "Weldon’s Laiies’ Journal” contains gratis patterns of an afternoon dress, evening frock, and special dance petticoat, as attractively illustrated in full colours oil the coyer, whilst the fullest directions are given for cutting out and making up these designs. SpeciaJ features include a magnificent art supplement of new French fashions, gratis transfer for cross-stitch embroidery for coats and dresses, and a further instalment of the serial story “Tony in Between,” by Winifred Carter.
Theie is a splendid selection of free 'patterns in the February issue of “Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions,” including a girl’s day dress and party frock, eight to ten years, a smart coat for a girl and for a boy of four to six years, and dress for a little gi”l of two to four years. Simple directions are given for cutting oiit,-and making up these designs. The editress chats on fashions and materials now in. vogue, and there are pages of delightful styles for party and dance frocks, and toddlers sets'.
