THAME'S V. PAEROA.

WIN FOR VISITORS.

Despite the heat, a most enjoyable day was spent by all in the match between Paeroa and Thames on the local club’s courts yesterday. All the game;: were strenuously contested, though Thames won by a fair margin. Play commenced with the arrival of the Thames team by car at 10 a.m., the men’s singles being first to go on. The results were as follows, Paeroa players being mentioned first in eacn case :—

Morning tea was served by the Paeroa ladies to the visitors, who were the guests of the club at the Criterion Hotel for lunch.

.Afternoon tea was served on the completion of the men’s doubles. The match finished at 6 pm., when tea was served to the visitors, who then departed for Thames.

Fine fish are being caught at Taupo. Mr Tattersall, a Rotorua angle.:!, has landed the largest to date, a splendid rainbow trout of weight a male fish of beautiful Silvery colour. It was caught oh a Turkey red flag, size 6. The fish made a great fight, projecting its body clean out of the awter and taking 150 yards of line.
