MEETING AT TURUA. L' — i A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. 1 The fourth annual sports meeting of the Hauraki Plains Athletic and Sports Club was held in the Recreation Ground. Turua, on Saturday last, and proved an unqualified success. Weather conditions were ideal, there being sufficient clouds in the sky to break the full force of the sun and a slight sea breeze to cool the air. , Much work had been done on the grounds, and the improvement was favourably commented upon. Turua is fortunate in having a ground containing a clump of natural*"’ bush., and advantage of this was - taken by numerous* groups of picnicker--, hot water being supplied by the club for their use. Long before the time appointed for the programme to commence a large crowd had assembled. The numerous side-shows and games of skill occupied the attention of many during the day. ■ Although a late start was made it was not long before the time-table was being adhered to. As on previous occasions the officials' were keen on their allotted tasks, so the organisation of the sports was all that could be wished for. The whole meeting passed off without the slightest A hitch., clean sport being the Ti e number of entries was about the same as last year, and some veiy good performances were witnessed. Unfortunately only the chopping events were timed :— OFFICIALS. President: Mr W. Chapman. Judges: Messrs G. Gray. G. Porteous, T. White. Starters:.Mr J. A. Bennett (chopping), and Messrs E. B. It May Lead to Serious Results. When people generally understand that all such fatal diseases as Fistula, Ulcer of the Rectum, Fissure, etc., almost invariably begin in a simple case of Piles, they will learn the wisdom of taking prompt treatment for the first appearance of this trouble. Doan’s Ointment is upequalled fpr every form of Piles—BleedingItching, Protruding, and Blind piles—and hundreds of lives have been saved by using this cheap but effective remedy right at the start, because at such tames a single pot has often effected a cure, while in the old, deep-seated, chronic cases several x pots are sometimes necessary. Here is a case : Mrs J. O’Neill, Cook Street, Hamilton. says : “A member o# jny family used Doan'W Ointment for Itching and Protiuding Piles, and I am pleased to . tell you that it completely cured him. Previous to buying this remedy ho tried all kinds of ointments, but they gave little or no relief. He was suf-. fering terribly when he first applied Doan’s Ointment, and had little tope of it doing him any good, but s ts ' soothing and healing effects were noticeable almost at once, and by the • time one ppt was used a perfect cure was effected. We are all great be-' lievers in Doan’s Ointment, and al-; ways keep some in the house. I am< sure if this remedy was’ better known 4 there would be fewer people suffering from Piles.” Two years later Mrs O’Neill says: "The cure referred to still holds good, no s'gn of piles having returned since Doan’s ■ Ointment cured me somif; yeais ago.”
