DISTRICT NEWS.
TURUA. A WATER SUPPLY. Now that the co-operative water supply scheme o_f the Gumtown and Huirau Road settlers has proved such a success another group of settlers nearer Turua township has decided to look into the question of installing a similar supply. It has been sug-gested-that a tank be installed on the river bank either at the Jubilee or Mill creek outlets. . Comparing the area to be reticulated with that of the Huirau Road scheme, it is thought that the cost will be in the vicinity of £4O per settler, PIPIROA. PRESENTATION.
A very pleasant little function took place in ’he Pipiroa Hall on Friday evening, when,, at a social organised for the occasion, Mis« M. Keith, of Pipiroa. who is leaving shortly to complete her education, was presented by Mr C. W. Parfitt, on behalf o! the residents, with a set of silver hairbrushes, comb, and mirror.
