PERSONAL
Mrs G. Fallon, of this town, has just recieved the sad news of the death of her brother, Mr J. J. Holtham, Mayor of Patea. The deceased spent practically the whole of his lifa in that township, arid was the first Patea boy to occupy the mayoral chair. Possessed of a high sense of honour, and unbounded energy coupled with a deep-seated love for his town, he made an ideal mayor. Besides his office as Mayor the late M- Holtham was connected with practically every institution in the town, and was also a Past Master of the Lodge of Freemasons at Patea.
