ODDFELLOWSHIP.
LOYAL JUBILEE LODGE. INSTALLATION CEREMONY. 'me bi-annual installation of the Loyal Jubilee Lodge 7446, M.U.1.0.0.F. Paeroa, was held in the Centenary Hall on Monday evening last. The N.G., Bro W. L. Lawrence, presided over a large attendance of officers and brethren. A letter was received from the district corresponding secretary enclosing a cheque for £6, being the amount of interest due on £lOO invested by the lodge some 12 months ago. It was decided to return the £6 for reinvestment. P.G. Bro: W. Gubb, secretary of Lodge Tuakau, was a visitor at the mooting, and was heartily welcomed by the N G., after which the honours of the Order were duly conferred upon him. The following extract from the Manchester Unity Magazine for December. 1923. was read by the N.G.: “Steady progress hafe been made in the numerical strength of the majority of the lodges in the Auckland district during the year just passed. Although the number is short of the 1000 aimed at, it is, nevertheless, encouraging, and a credit to members. The initiation certificates received at the district office up to December 31. 1923, show an increase oj 705 members. It is possible that soime certificates are still in the hands of lodge secretaries, and when these are forwarded the number will show an increase. The membership of the Auckland district on December 31. 1922. was 4326, which, with the 1923 increase of- 705 added, makes a total of 5031; but from this we anticipate the loss of about 300 1 through various causes, thus leaving an estimated membership of 4731.”
Of the 44 Oddfellows lodges, ht the Auckland province the Loyal Jubilee stands eightlib on the list for new members for the year, having initiated 27 candidates, a record for the lodge.
The ordinary routine business of the evening having been disposed of Lecture Master P.G, Bro W. T. Power so'emnly installed the following officers for the ensuing term, congratulating each in turn on his election to office :—
T.P.N.G., Bro. W. L. Lawrence; N.G. Bro. J. Morrison ; V. G., Broi. J. Fox ; EJ.S, Bro. T. G. Wilkinson ; F.S., P.G. Bro. AV. North ; Warden, Bro. D. Shankland ; Guardian, Bro. A.
