Public Notice*. COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS NOTICE OF INTENTION TO BORROW. Loan of £1450 over the HorahiaOpou Special Drainage District Rating Area for the construction of drainage works therein. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN—1. THAT it is the intention of the Hauraki Plains County Council under the Provisions of Section 171 of “The Counties Act, 1920,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” and amendments thereof respectively, and all other Acts, if any, it in that behalf enabling to borrow the sum of £1450 for the purpose of constructing the drainage works in the Horahia-Opou Special Drainage District Rating Area as hereinafter described as set forth in the petition of a majority of the ratepayers in the said Rating Area. 2. THAT as security for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan, it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a special rate of 4-sths of a penny in. the £ upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateab’e property in the HorahiaOpou Special Drainage Rating Area as hereinafter described. 3. THAT it is the intention of the Council to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the, loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year. 4. THAT the loan is for a period of 36A years at such rate of interest not exceeding so mrch as may be authorised under Section 11 of “The Finance Act, 1921,” together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinking fund. The boundaries of the said special Rating Area are as follows : - Commencing at a point in the South-Western corner of Section 3s Horahia Settlement, thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of that section, and the western boundary of that section produced to intersect the northern boundary of section 11, Block IL, Waihou Survey District; then along the northern boundary of that section to its north-eastern corner, from thence in a north-easterly direction.to a point in the centre of the western boundary of lot 18, D.P. 7492 ; thence along the western boundary of the Hauraki Diainage District in a southerly direction to a point in the centre of the eastern boundary of section IA, Block VII., Waihou Survey District; thence in a southwesterly direction to a point on the eastern boundary of section 2, Block VII., Waihou Survey District 10 chains south from the north-eastern corner of that section, thence by right lines generally in a westerly and northwesterly direction of 25 chains and 14 chains respectively to the north-eastern corner of section 2 Biock VII., Waihou Survey District, thence by a right line in a north-westerly direction to a point on the northern boundary of section 9, Block 11., Waihou Survey District 30 chains distant from the north-western corner of that section ; thence generally in a north-westerly direction by right lines parallel to, and 30 chains distant from, the eastern side of the Kerepeehi-Kopuarahi Road to the south-western comer of section 3B IB 2, Horahia-Opou Block, thence along the western bonudary of that block to its north-western corner, thence by a right line to the point of commencement. Pursuant to Section 10 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” 1 hereby give notice that a Poll of the ratepayers of the HorahiaOpou Special Drainage District Rating Area on the proposal to raise the abovementioned loan will be held between the hours of 9 a m. and 6 p.m. on the 9th day of February, 1924, at the following polling place:— Mr J. NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 50 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, that all creditors and others having claims against the estate of Edward Gambling, late of Paeroa, farmer, who died on the 26th. October, 1923, (whose estate is under administration by the Public Trustee) are hereby required to lodge in duplicate such claims, supported by full particulars and certified as due and owing by the said estate at the date of the death of deceased, with the Public Trustee’s local Office at Hamilton on or before the 18th. day of February, 1924.
