FAREWELL SOCIAL.
FUNCTION AT NETHERTON. A most enjoyable social and dance was held iast week in the Netherton Hr-H under the auspices of the Netherton Sports and Recreation Club, when the opportunity was taken to farewell the popular manager of the cheese factory, Mr D. R. Anderson, and his wife. There was a large at- . tendance of members of the club and suppliers to the factory. In making a presentation of an oak clock to. MiAnderson Mr C. R. Potter, on. behalf of the settlers, congratulated him on. hi? promotion to the managership ot the Aka Aka factory, and referred, to his sterling qualities and obliging disposition in business matters. Mr Potter said that both Mr and Mrs Anderson had done much to sport and recreation in the district during the 15 months that they had resided in Netherion, and they were all very sorry indeed to lose them. The club was most grateful for the willing and cheerful assistance given by them, and on behalf of the cluo he had pleasure in wishing them health, happiness,, and prosperity in their new sphere. Mr Anderson feelingly responded, and thanked the gathering for their token of esteem and for the laudatbry remarks made concerning hi,s wife’s and his own efforts whilst, resident - in Netherton. Dancing was carried on until a late hour under |he able managership of Mr E. Potter. The music .was supplied by Mr H. Morrison (piano) and Mr T. Drake (violin). An enjoyable supper was provided by the lady members of the sports club.
