THE SHOW.

SATISFACTORY ARRANGEMENTS. SUCCESSFUL EVENT ANTICIPATED The Haurakii A. and P. Association has arrangements well in hand for this year’s show, which' is to be held in the Paeroa Domain on Wednesday and Thursday, November 28 and 29. This year the show promises to eclipse former efforts, as everything practicable is being done to ensure its success. The Association is handicapped through not owning permanent show grounds, but energies have been concentrated on making the most >f the available opportunities, and it is confidently anticipated that even the discerning public will have no cause for complaint as to lack of interest or attraction. Owing to the rapid strides that cattlebreeding has made in the district, especially in the Jersey herds, the cattle exhibits are expected to oe far in advance of those of last year, both as regards quality and number. The Hubbard Memorial Shield, which is at present held by Mr W. J. Hall, of Matatoki, is bound to attract a lot of interest among breeders. In the horse section a good range of classes lias been provided for, including a special light draught class, and classes for children’s ponies. For those who are not interested in cattle there wi’l be found ample attraction in the various jumping, riding, driving, and guessing competitions. The Association has this year arranged for a band to be present, and selections will be played on People’s Day. Applications for space on the grounds are coming in fast, and it is anticipated that there will be no lack of side-shows, so dear to the hearts of the young folk. The settlers of the district, as well as the townspeople, are asked to cooperate with the Associatien and m?.ke the Hauraki A. and P. Association one of the biggest and best in the South Auckland district. By so doing they will be advertising their own district and proving to outsiders that the district really is a place worth living in and worth improving. A little enthusiasm infused flnto an event of this kind will help it along wonderfully.
