FORTHCOMING SHOW.
. ■ . —♦ ■ arrangements in hand. A special meetipg of the general committee of. the; Hauraki A. and P. /Association was held.in the Fire Brigade station on Monday evening last. There, were present: Messrs W. ?• Johnstone (president), J. Hamilton, W. Marsh, E. Shaw, P. R. Hubbard, 11. Beattie, J. A. Reid, E. P. Fathers, J. P. . Findlay, G. Buchanan, J. Buchanan, and the secretary, Mr E. Edwards. Mr R.' Stock, senr., sent -in his resignation from the general commitiee.j. It was decided to accept ths resignation wtih regret, and to .record ihe appreciation of the Association ,< f the services rendered by Mr Stock. JUDGES. The following judges wrote accepting the Association’s invitation to icc at the show - Messrs A. D. Bell, judge for Shorthorn, and fat cattle and sheep ; G. M. Watt, Friesian-cattle; J. M. Baxter, ■ draught horses and roadsters; W. C. Motion, light horses and hunters. The appointment of judges for, the Jersey cattle and milch stock has been held over meantime. MUSIC. ' It was decided to communicate with the Te Aroha and Waihi bands with a view to obtaining the services of one to play selections on People’s Day at -the show. The Association agreed to make a donation of £5 to the band and grant it the privilege of taking rp a collection on the show ground. AMATEUR JUDGING. It was decided to hold an amateur judging competition again this year, and Mr F. C. Hubbard was appointed to act as supervisor. Messrs W. J. Hall and E. J. Walters are to be asked' to act as judges of the competition. COMPETITIONS. For the guessing competition the president (Mr W. F. Johnstone) offered to donate a pig. A bullock and a .sheep are also required; and the matter of secnringjhe beasts was left in ■the hands of the secretary. Mr W.-Marsh offered to donate the poles necessary for the bending competition. PRELIMINARY MATTERS. Mr N. Beattie intimated that he 'was willing to assist Mr J. Pennell in Z the paddocking of show stock. . It "was decided tp apply to the Jordcey Club for the use of its hurdles. It was agreed to admit school children to the grounds this year for half price. After some discussion it was decided that exhibitors of sheep should be ’ advised that sheep would require to be exhibited on the second day only of the show. It was decided that working bees should be held on the show grounds prior to and after the show. The secretary was instructed to make. application to the Domain Board for the use of the Domain in which to hold the show. It was left in the hands of the president and secretary to arrange for a luncheon and refreshment booths. i?' / -
