FARMERS TRADING CO.

NETHERTON BRANCH. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Netherton Branch Committee of the Farmers' Union Trading Company was held on Monday last, when a representative gathering of shareholders was present. Mr J. Young occupied the chair; and gave an interesting ad; dress on the working of the store for the year; The Committee has held eight meetings for the year. The turnover for ten months had increased by over 40 per cent., the result of ,the two remaining months not, being available at the meeting. Mr Y’oung congratulated the shareholders on the up-to-date store they have at Netherton and appealed to the shareholders to support, it. The larger the turnover the cheaper the company could sell to the shareholders and customers The chairman called for nominations tor the.committee for the ensuing year, and Messrs Heappey and Harold, the retiring members, were returned unopposed. Mr Harold thanked the meeting for electing, him again to the committee. Mr D. Brown, manager of the Paeroa branch, was present by invitation, and he congratulated the Committee on the successful year’s operations. The store had put up a good return, and he would asisist the committee in every way to carry on and make the business successful. The company intends putting on a delivery service, which should be an advantage, to the dktrict. Mr Young moved a hearty vote cf .thanks to Mr Brown for attending the meeting which was carried by acclamation. Mr Brown suitably replied. A hearty vote of thanks to the chiirman fpr presiding at, the meeting was moved by Mr Stembridge and carried by acclamation.*
