HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton on Tuesday last we had a large yarding of all classes of cattle and pigs. Sheep, however, were in small supply. Competition for beef was somewhat easier, although most of the entry ultimately changed hands. Best steers made from £ll 12s 6d to £l3 10s, light weights £9 2s 6d to £11; best cows £8 17,s 6d to £l2 2s 6d, lighter weights £7 2s 6d ; empty cows £2 to £3. There was a good entry of yearling Jersey heifers, and good competition was met with. The advertised line of Taranaki-bred heifers made from £7 5s to £8 for the best, second quality £5 15s to £6 15s; small and broken coloured £3 17s 6d to £4 17s 6d. A line of yearling Shorthorn steerp failed to reach the owner’s reserve. Jersey bulls sold from £3 to £9. Dairy cows were in ismaller supply tha/n usual, and were mostly of inferior class. Cows realised from £6 10s to £B, heifers £5 to £7. Only a few fat sheep were penned, and fat wethers, shorn, made from 32s to 355. Pigs opened up rather quietly, but improved as the gale proceeded. Baconerg made to £6 ss, light baconers £4 to £5 ss, porkers £3 to £3 15s.
