CORRESPONDENCE.
THE HEALING MISSION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I ask for space in the columns of your paper to express my grateful appreciation and heartfelt thanks fpr the privilege given me of attending the recent Hickson Mission in Hamilton. I would like.to say that the organisation in connection with the great work was wonderful, and perfect in every detail. It gave one the impression that it had all been practiced under, Mr Hickson’s guidance for years. One could never picture the amoiint of suffering that was to be seen at the service, and iu addition the Bishop read a list of the names of sufferers afflicted with all manner of ailments and diseases, from insomnia to spinal trouble and blindness. in that vast congregation, with the beautiful music from the organ softly playing, one felt on the threshold of the Gates of Heaven. My own experience was that God was very near to us all, and that He made no distinction as to which creed one belonged sp long as one had the true spirit and faith in His deliverance. The wonderfully inspiring address delivered by Mr Hickson lasted nearly an hour and a half, but one neve.) for an instant tired? The address was earnest and full of help and comfort, and yet so simple and loving that a child of tender years could understand it all. I am afraid that I was not as prepared as I might have been, but there is one consolation in that I saw a large number of fellowsufferers receive benefit. I have resolved to pin my faith in my prayers to Almighty God from now onwards and will visit Mr Hicksion at Rotorua. We must not stop praying because we have been restored to health: we must earnestly continue for the sake of the great work. I. have been in a wheeled chair for eleven years now, and at the outset was told that .1 had only six months in which to live. I am still living. Although heavily afflicted, God has been very merciful, and I now feel better than I have done for years. I wish to thank the Revs. Dobson, Morgan, and Jefferson for their great help, and especially the wide circle of friends who offered, and are still offering, earnest prayers to God on my behalf. H. B. WOODS. Paeroa, October 16, 1923.
