HARBOUR BOARD FUNDS.

ALLEGED MISAPPROPRIATION. SECRETARY ARRESTED. As the result of investigations by the Audit Department Norman Gibbs, secretary of the Thames Harbour Board, was arrested by Detective Culloty, at Hamilton on a charge of having misappropriated £l6, the property of the board. Other charges are understood to be pending, and are stated to involve over £2OO. Accused will appear at the Police Court, Thames, today. The arrest has caused a great deal of excitement and surprise at Thames, where the accused, a married man with seven children, was held in the highest esteem.
