GOLD FIND AT TIKI.
SOME FINE SPECIMEN STONE. Messrs Kennedy and Gibson, who have been prospecting for some time in the Coromandel district, have some rich specimen stone from a ntyjj find made by them at Tiki. The/ started prospecting at Mahakarau. Their wanderings next took, them to Wrutekuri, from which place they reached Tiki. Here they discovered a three-inch leader on the surface. Pieces of oxidised quartz from this leader have bands of gold going through them, from a quarter to half an inch in breadth. A block of ore weighing from eight to ten pounds got from another leader, two feet in width, also showed good dabs of gold. The prospectors also located an eightfoot reef, which has not yet been much tested. From where the new find was made there are about 509 feet o' backs. The prospectors have secured a claim of 60 acres.
