HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton on Tuesday last mutton and beef were in plentiful supply and in consequence perhaps the market declined. Mutton especially was slow of sale, the butchers showing little interest in the various lots submitted. Mixed pens of maiden ewes mitted. Mixed pens of mainden ewes and wethers made from 37/6 to £2 4/- forward ewes 31/-. A pen of strong hoggets sold under good competition at 27/-. Beef met with better bidding, but values did not reach the standard of the previous week, although the quality of the cattle was all that could be looked for. Medium weight steers made from £9 12/6 to £lO 15/-, unfinished sorts £8 10/- Best con's and heifers £8 19/- to £lO 15/-. lighter weights £5 12/6 to £7 10/-. The entry of store cattle was small and consisted mainly of small odd lots. Dairy cattle were in brisk demand, and all well conditioned and forward soi'ts sold readily. Heifers, best, made from £lO to £l3, second quality £5 to £7 10/-, low conditioned and backward £3 to £4 10/-. The pig market, experienced a very sharp advance, baconers reaching £5 19/-, lightweights £3 10/- to £4 7/6, porkers £2 5/- to £3 2/6. Store pigs sold at equal to recent rates.
