FOOD POISONING.

COLD MEAT DANGLE. The food-poisoning season, which usually begins in England towards the end. of July every year, appears '.o have begun. Dr, Bronte, the Home Office pathologist, stated at a Holborn inquest on a Liverpool visitor that it was the third case of bacterial invasion of the body in which food was suspected that he had had in a week. A doctor told a “Daily Mail” reporter that for the next eight or ten weeks people should be extremely careful with regard to the food they eat, especially cold dishes. •‘Most of the large outbreaks that have been recorded were traced to cold food,” he said. “Food which is perfectly wholesome when eaten hot may be poisonous when cold. Cases have 1 been recorded of a family having roast pork or other meat for dinner on Sunday without any ill-effects and being made seriously ill by eating the cold remains next day.”
