HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton sale on Tuesday last there was a larger entry of beef, and about the usual entry of beef. Sheep did not sell quite as readily as at recent sales, alt, hough sellers were asking high values. Mixed ewes and wethers, extra prime, made £2 14s wethers £2 14s 6d, lighter fat wethers £2 ss. For two oher lines of wethers £2 9s to £2 10s were offered, but sellers .would not, sell. For the beef there was again strong competition, heavy prime steers selling from £l3 3s to £l3 ss, lighter weights £l>2 to £l2 5s ; heavy fat cows, £9 2s to’ £ll 17s ; good butchers’ sorts, £6 17s 6d to £8 Ils, lighter £5 12s 6d to £6 10s ; forward co’ws, £2 17s 6d to £4 10s ; stores £1 to £2. A small pen of yearling steers- made £2 6s, these being the only young cattle penned. Dairy stock improved in vaihie considerably, particularly heifers, Jerseys selling frpm £8 to £l4 10s (the advertised line of 11 averaged £ll 10s) ; other heifers £5 10s to £7. Good sound cows made £5 10S to £ll. A smaller yarding of fiat pigs brought better values* heavy baconers bringing £3 10s to £3 17s, medium £3 4s to £2 9s ; heavy porkers to light baconers £2 12s 6d to £3 3s; light porkers £2 6s t,o £2 12s 6d ; slips 19s to 28s ; weaners, well grown, 15s to 19s, small 11s to 14s.
