— • —— ' NGATEA. PERSONAL. Mr Boyd, postmaster at Thames, and Mr Lakeman, district telegraph engineer, were in Ngatea. on Monday. Mr Kidd, of the relieving staff, is acting temporarily as master of the Ngatea District. High School. REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of t<he Hauraki Plains Referees’ Association -was held on Monday evening, those present being Messrs G. T. Davidson (president), J. Costello* J. Reid, D. A. Vincent, arid E. McConnell. Waitakaruru Football Club wrote inviting members to be present at a function at which the gtretton- ■ Pincers Cup would be presented. It was decided to accept tjie invitation. A vote of sympathy to Mrs H. A. Shaw was carried. The report of the referee of the third grade match was received, and M- Davidson was thanked for the interest he has taken in the thirdgrade matches. Mr G. T. Davidson was appointed referee for the Thames-Plains representative match on September 15 it Ngatea.
