« —- —. CLAUDELANDS STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At the Claudelands for.tnigh.tly sale on Thursday last there was a good entry of cattle, including a full run of beef, amongst them some prime quality steers and extra good cows, and heifers. Competition was spirited, and resulted in one of the best sales experienced in the yards for .some time. Compared with the previous sale beef was easily £1 10s to £2 10s per head better value. Prime steers sold at from £lo' 10s to £l2 2s, lighter weights £8 6s to £lO 5s ; small and unfinished, but killable steers £6 to £7 Is; extra prime fat cows and heifers £8 9s to £8 14s and £9 ; good cows £5 17s 6d to £7 18, other killable cows £4 Is to £5 15s ; forward cows £2 4s to £3 15s; store cows 19s to 38s. The several pens of yearling heifers yarded were hard to quit, sales being made up tp £2 10s fo” Jersey-cross and 29s for Shorthorn. The entry of dairy stock was mostly poor quality, and was not wanted except at store values. A few good sorts sold from £6 10s tp £9 ss. A small yarding of pigs sold well, baconers to £4 15s, light porkers and unfinished pigs 33s to £2 ss, weaners 265.
