THE Hauraki Plains Gazette With which is incorporated THE OHINEMURI GAZETTE. Motto : Public Service. MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, & FRIDAY. MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 1923. RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.

Just at the present moment there seems every likelihood of an alteration being made to trie running of the trains, on .the Thames-Frankton and Auckland-Frankton sections. Briefly, the suggestions are as follows: (1)' That the 9.45 a-m. FranktonlAuckland train be eliminated from the. timetable, and that a fast train be run from Hamilton tp Auckland at 7 a.m. to take its place ; (2) that a train leave Frankton for Auckland between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to take the place of the one at 2.30 p.m. ; (3) that on one day of the week (Thursday) a late train should leave Frankton for Putaruru at 4 p.m.; (4) that, the present 4 p.m. train from Auckland to Frank, ton leave Auckland at 4'.30 p.m. and be accelerated tp arrive at Frankton at the same time as at present; (5) that the Pukemiro branch trains be run to connect with trie main line trains so that residents on the branch may visit Hamilton, do their shoppnig, and return to their homes the same day. The proposal, so far as it affecss Paeroa, is to eliminate the early train that goes through to Auckland and to replace it with a fast train to run from Hamilton to Auckland at 7 a.m. The proposal is very mucn favoured by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, but has met with reverse views at the hands of both the Morrinsville and Paeroa chambers of commerce. It is to be hoped the matter will not be lost sight of by the local bodies here, and that the present timetable will be adhered to.
